Christmas Time's a Comin'..

So this year, when we picked a color theme for our tree (that's my 4.5 year old and I) - we dove in head first and started making our trimmings for the tree.  Our color theme? - All homemade ornaments ... so with the help of Pinterest, and the wonders of Google, I set out to find the cutest of cute, but easy to make ornaments.. and replicate them for our tree.

Starting last Wednesday, my progeny and I began making our ornaments.. 12 of each with the exception of the reindeer..because.. Santa only had 9 reindeer counting Rudolph, right?  So we worked for 3 nights straight making all of these beautiful, precious ornaments.  We had Beaded candy canes, felt cut outs, apple-cinnamon cookie like Christmas ornaments (smelled delish), pine cones, glittery bulbs, snow men made out of large Popsicle sticks, mini- Popsicle stick Christmas trees, handmade bows, and the cutest wooden dowel rod reindeer ever.. you name it, we made it and put it on the tree.

We put the tree up on Sunday.. decorated it.. and it was without a doubt, the most beautiful tree we have ever done.  This morning, upon waking, we found that our beautiful, loving, not quite a year old collie (ostensibly named Karma) had decided she either didn't like the ornaments or she loved them so much that she had to try eating each and every one that she could reach (did I mention she is an abnormally tall Collie???)... so 3 feet up on my 6 foot tree, it's pretty much bare.from the bottom up.

So tonight.. when my little buddy and I get home, we're making more ornaments to replace the ones that our little destructive doggy enjoyed demolishing.  More memories to be made, right?

In the event that Karma decides to eat more, we may be looking for a Collie sized doggy door to put in our Mini Cooper sized garage & Karma may be getting her own Canine Condo. :(

On that note.. We wish each of you a very Merry Christmas!
